Ballistic Resistant CFI SafeSlider™ Concealed Slideout Panel

Recognizing that so many widely differing venues are seeking ballistic-resistant products for retrofit, CFI is proud to offer the unique and practical SafeWood Designs patented Ballistic Resistant SafeSlider™.

Like all SafeWood products, these highly cost-effective panels are part of a modular system based on years of custom-built solutions which provide bullet-resistance while seamlessly integrating with existing building structures and features.

The SafeSlider™ by SafeWood Designs is meant to be an inconspicuous addition to your room cabinetry or decor. The bullet resistant SafeSlider™ Concealed Slideout Panel is designed to tuck neatly against walls or between cabinetry, then slide out instantly to provide protection in UL levels 1 through 8. Once extended and locked in an emergency, they offer an additional layer of protection for students, teachers, employees, staff and visitors inside a given room.

The SafeSlider can be finished with plastic laminate (PLam), wood or other materials. When paired with SafeWood Designs Bullet Resistant Wall Panels, the system provides an additional layer of protection in a wide array of settings.

SafeWood Designs tests panels in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 752 requirements for Levels 1-8 (including Supplementary Shotgun). SafeSliders are available in standard sizes including:

• 24” x 72”
• 36” x 72”
• 48” x 72”

When paired with the SafeWood Designs Ballistic Resistant Doors, Wall Panels and Accessories, SafeSlider provides an extra layer of protection in a wide array of settings.

CFI’s Ballistic Resistant SafeSlider™ Concealed Slideout Panels are designed to standard architectural guidelines and specifications for ballistic protection. Bulletproof characteristics are provided by pultruded ballistic grade fiberglass impregnated with thermoset resin constructed into rigid flat sheets. Fiberglass and resin mix meets or exceeds UL 752 standards for ballistic resistant panels in each of the UL levels.

• Fire Rating, ASTM E119: 1 hour.
• Self-Extinguishing UL 94-V-0.
• Thickness, UL Level 3: 1/2 inch (12 mm).
• Bullet resistance of joints is equal to that of the panel.
• Non-ricochet type doors and frames permit the capture and retention of an attacking projectile, lessening the potential of a random injury or lateral penetration.
• Window, frame, and door components effectively reduce the penetration potential of bullets at all seams and gaps between different wall construction components.
