Laboratory Sink Options
With Chemical Resistant Phenolic Countertops, you have the option to buy a sink and faucet to complete your laboratory package. The choices are between a drop-in sink or undermount sink. Drop-in sinks feature a lipped design which is flush mounted into a recessed cutout. This recessed cutout is manufactured into the phenolic counter top making it the easiest way to install a laboratory sink. Undermount sinks have a flat top and require an under-sink support system for installation. Every sink purchase includes a 1 ½” sink strainer assembly set (drain waste, beehive overflow and stopper). The faucets CFI provides are from our laboratory partner Watersaver, please see link below for standard faucet offerings https://wsflab.com/products/standard-products/laboratory-mixing-faucets/.
Backsplash
Every countertop purchased with a backsplash includes a small tube of epoxy smooth-on adhesive for installation of backsplash curbs and epoxy sinks. Reach out to your CFI representative today to find the right solution and full-service package for your needs.

Benefits of a Phenolic Countertop
Phenolic countertops stand as a pinnacle choice in laboratory design, offering a remarkable blend of durability, heat resistance, and aesthetic versatility. While these countertops are celebrated for their exceptional properties, there are some unique aspects that set them apart.
Color Core Customization: While standard phenolic countertops typically feature a black outside edge with coloring limited to the top surface, laboratories seeking a more uniform appearance can request Color Core countertops. Color Core countertops have consistent color throughout the material, providing a sleek and cohesive look to your laboratory workspace. This option allows for a more personalized design aesthetic while retaining the renowned durability and chemical resistance.
Sustainability: Many manufacturers prioritize eco-conscious practices in the production of Chemical Resistant Phenolic Countertops. This commitment to sustainability includes the use of recycled materials and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes, aligning with modern laboratory requirements for eco-friendliness.
Custom Shapes and Sizes: Laboratories with unique spatial requirements will find that these countertops can be custom-fabricated into various shapes and sizes to accommodate specific needs. This versatility ensures that the countertops fit seamlessly into any laboratory layout, optimizing functionality and efficiency.
UV Resistance: Some phenolic countertops offer UV resistance, preventing discoloration and damage from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light. This feature is particularly valuable in laboratories with ample natural light or UV-sensitive experiments.
Chemical Resistant Phenolic Countertops not only provide exceptional chemical resistance, durability, and ease of maintenance but also offer customization options, sustainability considerations, and protection against UV damage. These countertops are more than just functional; they contribute to the overall efficiency, safety, and aesthetic appeal of modern laboratories.
